Opportunity could take different forms, and this time it was in the form of a tea party and the opportunity was to learn and get to know interesting people. This was my first geek tea party and I was amazed by what a two hour talks over an afternoon tea could bring. The Manchester Girl Geeks ( @mcrgirlgeeks ) is a group of manchester based girls who are either studying/ working or just keen in STEM (Science/ Technology/ Engineering/ Mathematics). There were some really interesting presentations ranging from technology in fashion to plate tectonics to even a simple demonstration of what a raspberry pi could do. There was something new for everyone to learn. And not to forget, the absolutely fantastics bakes from many of the attendees along with a cup of tea was just such a perfect way to enjoy a sunday afternoon and the bonus is you get to learn something new. So if you get a chance to attend or present in a geek tea party, just don't miss it!
